Clair Obscur and eight more games leave Game Pass on October 15
If you're halfway through Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on Game Pass, the clock is ticking. Nine games leave the subscription service on October 15, according to Xbox's own list. The headline name is one of 2025's biggest releases, a game that collected awards across the year. Anyone who wants to keep playing after that date will have to buy it.

Alongside Clair Obscur, the departures are:
- A Plague Tale: Requiem - The Casting of Frank Stone - Evil West - Pacific Drive - Crime Scene Cleaner - Donut County - Nova Roma (the PC Game Preview version) - Superball
The two biggest losses after Clair Obscur are A Plague Tale: Requiem, a dark story-driven adventure, and Pacific Drive, a survival game built around a battered station wagon. PureXbox has a breakdown by console, PC and cloud.

The discount
Game Pass members get at least 20% off every departing title in the Xbox Store until the removal date. Clair Obscur's standard edition costs $49.99 or £49.99. With the member discount it drops to $37.49 or £37.49, which is 25% off.
Buying means you keep the game permanently, even if you later cancel Game Pass. Removal only ends subscription access. The game stays on sale afterwards, but the member discount disappears.
Worth buying?
That depends on how far you are in. Clair Obscur is a long turn-based role-playing game, so players who haven't started may not finish it in two weeks. A purchase makes sense if you plan to replay it or finish at your own pace.
The timing is awkward for another reason. Clair Obscur has been rumoured for Switch 2, and developers have said the port Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 may come to Switch 2 — if the hardware can keep up. Buying on Xbox won't carry over to Nintendo's console, so players who only care about handheld play may prefer to wait.
For the cheaper titles on the list, such as Donut County and Superball, the 20% discount saves only a few dollars or pounds. They are easy to finish before the deadline.
Game Pass rotates games out every month, so the departures aren't unusual. This batch stands out because it includes a major recent hit. Anyone who subscribes mainly for big new releases should check the leaving-soon tab before starting a long game.
