Seven years after launch, The Division 2 is getting its biggest expansion yet. Ubisoft has announced Echoes of Central Park, a $20 DLC dropping November 3, 2026 — and it arrives alongside crossplay, finally letting PC and console players share the same servers. If you drifted away from the game, this is the update designed to pull you back.

The map and the mood

The Central Park setting is roughly twice the size of the Battle for Brooklyn expansion from May 2025, which itself cost $14.99 — so you're paying 33% more for noticeably more ground to cover. The tone shifts too: where previous content leaned military-tactical, Echoes goes darker. Ubisoft describes overgrown paths, mass burials, and a mysterious force lurking in the park — urban-legend horror grafted onto the Division's cover-shooter bones.

Three new AI companion NPCs join your squad, each with a distinct backstory and combat role. Brayley Callahan is an Olympic-level sniper. Elwood Franklin is a former mall security guard who wanted to be a cop. Morse Fini is a veteran First Wave Special Agent. The story unfolds as a flashback — you arrive in Central Park as a survivor, not a liberator, and the power dynamic only shifts once the main threat is dealt with.

New gear, skills, and crossplay

Beyond the story, Echoes adds six new skill modules, new exotic weapons, a full gear set, and a roguelike-style endgame loop where you start without GPS and unlock capabilities progressively. The replayable structure is a step beyond Battle for Brooklyn's more linear content.

Crossplay is the other headline. Ubisoft rebuilt part of the game's backend architecture to make it work — no small task on a seven-year-old engine, per the official Ubisoft blog. On release day, November 3, a UI toggle appears in-game. Cross-platform matchmaking goes live on PC from November 10, with consoles following a few days later. Leaderboards will reset at launch.

The game runs on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders for Echoes of Central Park are open now across all storefronts.
