With Grand Theft Auto VI arriving on November 19, Rockstar is finally starting to talk. Game Informer's Issue 382 goes live digitally on September 29, leading with a 14-page exclusive built around interviews with Rockstar's lead designers. It's the most detailed look at the game's world yet — covering the mechanics behind Vice City's reimagining, life across the state of Leonida, and 12 never-before-seen screenshots.

The cover story

The Game Informer exclusive centres on how Rockstar built Leonida's open world: advanced dynamic weather systems, regional wildlife, and the studio's research into Florida's cultural landscape. Protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos front the cover with original Rockstar artwork. The feature is the clearest signal yet that Rockstar is shifting from tightly controlled silence to an active pre-launch marketing push — something the studio rarely does before the final stretch.

The game ships single-player only on day one. GTA Online multiplayer is expected to follow in 2027, which mirrors Rockstar's approach with GTA V — though this time the single-player world appears far more ambitious from the outset.

What's confirmed for launch

GTA VI releases November 19, 2026, exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC version has been announced. In the US, Standard Edition is priced at $79.99; the UK Standard comes in at £69.99, with the Ultimate Edition at £89.99. A digital pre-load opens November 12, a week ahead of launch.

Rockstar has already shown 26 minutes of gameplay footage that revealed how deep the simulation runs — cars need fuel, theft requires more finesse, and the world reacts more realistically than any previous GTA. The Game Informer feature goes deeper on the environment side, with weather and ecology taking centre stage.

The outlook

Fifty-one days out from launch, the Game Informer feature is timed to build momentum heading into the holiday pre-order window. For anyone still on the fence, UK pricing and platform details are confirmed at major retailers. Print copies of the magazine are expected on UK newsstands in the weeks following the September 29 digital release.
